Namibia Wild Adventure

FAQ & Important information

We’re very excited about this Namibia Adventure escape, but it’s very important to us that our information about this adventure is as clear as possible. We want to ensure that all potential guests are able to make an informed decision as to whether this is the right escape for them, so we’ve complied a list of FAQ’s, as well as additional information that we think is important to know before booking.

 FAQs

  • This is an 11 night, group 4x4 safari road trip, exploring the many beautiful regions of Namibia.

It is an immersive and adventurous experience exploring the amazing wildlife, natural beauty and cultures of this fascinating country.

  • Your adventure will start and finish in the Capital City of Windhoek Namibia, so you’ll need to search for flights to “Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH)”.

Ideally book your flights to arrive in the first half of Day 1 of your escape so that you can relax and rest before the adventure begins on Day 2.

Departure flights home should be booked for any time on the final day of the escape. Official check out time is 10am, but late checkouts may be possible on request.

  • This is a camping & lodge escape so guests will stay in a mixture of accommodation types throughout their 13 night adventure:

    Night 1 & 2 = Hotel/Lodge
    Night 3 & 4 = Campsites (camping tents)
    Night 5 & 6 = Guest House/hotel
    Night 7,8 & 9 = Campsites (camping tents)
    Night 10 & 11 = Hotel/Lodge

We decided to offer hotels and lodges twin shared accommodation to keep the escape more affordable for guests. Private option is available for an additional cost. Please select the “private” option upon booking.

  • We will always try to accommodate where possible, and most (non-allergy) preferences should be easy enough to work with, however this will be discussed on a person by person basis.

Serious allergies and complex dietary needs may be difficult to manage in a camping environment, and our priority is guest’s health as well as (of course) their enjoyment of the escape. Therefore in some circumstances we may advise against people with allergies attending this escape.

  • One of our most frequently asked questions regarding travel to anywhere in Africa is whether it’s safe or not.

We want to be clear that it is our opinion that no country in the world is completely safe. There is crime and incidents in even the most developed countries so it’s hard to answer the question when applied specifically to Namibia.
For the most part YES Namibia is a safe place to be, and to travel. There is (however) always a small increased risk involved when travelling to developing countries.

We advise general situation awareness and normal safety practices that would be advised anywhere in the world (not travelling alone at night, not flaunting expensive possessions etc.).

Guests (however) will also always be accompanied by a local guide or member of the team.

  • This is a road trip, and safari escape so as expected there will be a good amount of driving (and exploring) the country in the vehicles. There will however be plenty of stops, toilet breaks, activities, lunch breaks, and opportunities to get out of the cars.

Guests will also stop for 2 full days in Swakopmund to explore the coastal town and do some adventurous activities.

  • Generally speaking most wildlife will try to avoid interaction with humans at all costs. Wild animals do not like approaching noise, fire and safari vehicles etc. so typically you won’t see anything alarming outside of the national parks etc. but you may hear the thrilling call of a lion in the night now and then.
That being said, camping in the wild does of course carry certain risks. This is why we have professional guides with us at all times to advise on how to behave and how to stay safe.

  • All of the campsites we stay at are beautiful, and professionally run. They all have facilities on site including hot running water and toilets. There is always a chance that water may not be available or the facilities may be out of order, but we will always do our best to make guests as comfortable as possible.
