Getting to our Kenya Escape

As this amazing 9 night adventure is a multi-location escape, guests will need to book some internal flights. We know booking flights can be scary, which is why we’ve put together an easy to digest guide to help you through the process. Below we’ll talk about everything from booking, to visas, vaccinations and flights.

Step 1: Booking your escape

This is the easy part!

  • Once you’ve read through all the information about this adventure and decided it’s the escape for you, you’ll click “book now” on one of the relevant pages. You’ll then be taken to the product itself in order to select your room and secure your place.
Note: Make sure you’re booking the correct dates as we may have multiple dates running

  • Select your desired room from the drop down menu, and whether it’s single occupancy (You’re travelling and sleeping solo) or double occupancy (You’re travelling with a friend or partner and will be sharing a bed - sorry twin rooms not available on this escape)

  • You’ll then be prompted to pay your deposit of £500 per person

  • If you have any discount codes it MUST be applied at checkout. We will not accept discount codes after deposit payments have been made

  • You will need to pay your remaining balance 12 weeks prior to your escape, and we will send you instructions on how to do so

  • Please DO NOT book flights until you are instructed to do so as we reserve the right to cancel escapes up to 12 weeks prior due to poor attendance or other environmental/political factors

Step 2: Book your international flights

  • Search flights from your home country/city to Nairobi (NBO), and ensure they ARRIVE on (or before) the first day of your escape

  • Return flights should depart Nairobi (NBO) back to your home country on (or after) the last day of your escape, in the afternoon/evening.

  • Do not book return flights that leave Nairobi in the morning of the last day of your escape as you will not have time to get to Nairobi from the coast.

Step 3: Book your domestic flights

Now this is where people can get caught out, but don’t worry. It’s not too difficult, and flights can usually be changed easily if you do make an error!

  • Please try to book the following flight on Day 4 of your escape:

JamboJet 8640 @ 07:15 from Jomo Kenyatta Airport (NBO) to Malindi Arport (MYD) - Return ticket cost approx $140/£115

  • If the above flight is not available please book an alternative morning flight from Jomo Kenyatta Airport (NBO) and we will organise a seperate transfer for you

  • It’s not advisable to book flights departing from Wilson Airport (WIL) because this is far from the main international airport and an inconvenience to get guests there for their flights.

  • Booking from NBO also allows you to book a return flight that will suit your international flight on Day 10, and be less stressful.

  • Please book your return domestic transfer to allow for at least 3 hours changeover time before your international flight home on Day 10

  • If you’d like assistance booking your internal flights we’d be happy to help. Get in touch with us at: info@wherenextescapes.com

Missed flights Liability

We do not accept any responsibility for missed flights whether down to guest booking error, or transportation delays etc. Please allow plenty of time between your flights, and remember if you’re unsure please email us for assistance at: info@wherenextescapes.com where we’ll be happy to talk you through it, or even book flights on your behalf for a small £50 booking fee.

Step 4: Apply for your visa

All guests MUST apply for an Evisa prior to travelling to Kenya. This is relatively straight forward and costs $51usd - processing time typically within 48 hours, but can take up to 5 working days

  • Head to https://evisa.go.ke/ - This is the official government website. Do not use other platforms

  • Fill out all necessary fields and upload documents where required

  • It will ask for a hotel reservation/itinerary for your trip. We will send this to you closer to your escape

Step 5: Vaccinations etc.

We do not offer advice on which medications or vaccinations you should/shouldn’t have before travelling to Kenya.
We have personally travelled to and lived in Kenya for many years without taking Malaria tablets etc. however if you need professional advice on this you should consult your local travel clinic or doctor.

Step 6: Travel Insurance

All guests MUST have a comprehensive travel insurance before attending our escapes. This ensures you’re covered in case of lost/delayed baggage, as well as injuries, illnesses and other incidents that can occur.
Travelling without insurance can be a costly experience even for minor incidents so we make it an absolute non-negotiable on our escapes.

Step 7: Send it over and see you in Kenya!

We ask guests to send an email with attached flight information, and proof of insurance to info@wherenextescapes.com. This enables us to make all necessary arrangements regarding transfers etc.

Arrival transfers are included so once we have all necessary information we will inform drivers to have you picked up from Nairobi Airport

Departure transfers are the responsibility of the guest however we can assist with booking these
