The Itinerary
This 11 nights, 10 days adventure will take guests on a journey through some of Namibia’s most famous landscapes, wildlife reserves and communities. Every day will have it’s own WOW moment, from standing atop towering sand dunes, and watching wildlife roam to interacting with local communities and tribes that have called Namibia home for hundreds of years. Even the drive between locations is a huge part of this escape and guests will see why this country has stolen the hearts of so many travellers, including us!
Day 1
Arrive & Chill
✈ Arrive to Windhoek International Airport (WDH)
Check-in to our beautiful partner lodge
Relax by the pool, unwind & meet your fellow guests
First night dinner, briefing & introduction
Well this is where your Namibian adventure begins! You’ll arrive into Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) preferably before mid-afternoon, to ensure you have time to settle in, meet your fellow guests and enjoy an amazing dinner together.
Guests can enjoy the pool, relax in their rooms, wander amongst the wildlife on the grounds or loosen up with a few drinks at the bar.
Day 2
The adventure begins
Head into Windhoek to stock up on snacks for our next 10 days of adventure
Drive to the famous Kalahari Desert
Visit a Cheetah orphanage & enjoy sundowners over the beautiful red dunes of the Kalahari
After a delicious breakfast it’s time to hit the road and begin our 3,000km journey over the next 10 days, but first we have a very important visit to the supermarket for road snacks! After stocking up on Biltong (or whatever else you fancy) it’s time to jump in the vehicle and head towards the bright red sand dunes of the Kalahari Desert, and our accommodation. There might be time for a dip in the pool before we head to a nearby Cheetah Orphanage to get up close and personal with these amazing animals!
Day 3
Safari & the journey to the Namib Desert
Morning game drive in Kalahari
Drive from the Kalahri Desert to the epic dunes of Sesriem & the Namib Desert
Check in to our tented accommodation & relax by the pool
Today starts with a morning game drive in the reserve to look for wildlife like oryx, giraffes, zebra, springbok and more before grabbing breakfast at the lodge and hitting the road again. Today we’ll cover just over 300km as we head out of the Kalahari and on to the towering dunes of the Namib Desert. After checking-in to our tented camp accommodation it will be time to relax by the pool and prepare for the early morning wake up call tomorrow when we will tackle the famous “Big Daddy” sand dune.
Day 4
Climb one of the world’s tallest sand dunes!
Leave early to be among the first to enter the National Park
Climb the colossal “Big Daddy” dune
Head down the dunes into the famous “Deadvlei”
Enjoy a well earned breakfast before heading to the lodge for some R&R
Today we leave the lodge before sunrise to ensure we’re among the first to enter the National Park and head directly for “Big Daddy”. The dunes here may look like familiar mountains, but you’ll notice very quickly that the soft sand makes this hike an entirely different challenge. The hard work will be well worth it though as we summit the dune and gaze at the endless, otherworldly landscapes around us and take it all in before sliding down the slope into the famous “Deadvlei” where ancient trees still stand, petrified since being cut off from water almost 1,000 years ago. As the sun starts to head the valley it will be time for us to make our way out for a picnic breakfast in the shade of the trees, before heading back to our lodge and for an afternoon by the pool.
Day 5
The journey to Swakopmund
Continue our journey through the Namib desert towards the epic Namibian coast
Visit the flamingos of Walvis bay
Explore the coastal town of Swakopmund
Beautiful sunset dinner at Jetty 1905
Today we continue our journey West, and to the wild Namibian coast. Before our 300km journey to Swakopmund we’ll stop in the famous town of Solitaire where they claim to have the best apple pie in Namibia… it would be rude not to try right?
Once fuelled with apple pie and coffee we hit the road and take in the breathtaking scenery on route to our next location. Enjoy a visit to a local flamingo colony, before exploring the European styled coastal town of Swakopmund and everything it has to offer. Finally our day ends with sunset drinks and a delicious dinner on the pier at the amazing Jetty 1905 restaurant.
Day 6
Let’s go off-road!
Enjoy a late breakfast
Epic Quad biking & sand boarding adventure!
Get close to the local community with a local township experience
We’ll take our time this morning with a slow breakfast before heading out for some adrenaline! Today we head out into the desert on quad bikes for some serious fun, but remember - what goes up… must come down, and after zooming to the top of the dunes our guide will find the perfect place for us to sand-board back down again! After an adrenaline filled morning we had better fill those bellies with lunch, before guests will explore the community with a local township experience.
Day 7
Seals, shipwrecks & lost tribes of Namibia
Visit the largest seal colony in the world!
Journey through the otherworldly landscapes of Damaraland
Experience the lost Damara Tribe
Explore ancient rock paintings
Today will possibly one of the most dramatic changes of landscapes, as we travel over 400km exploring shipwrecks and visiting the world’s largest seal colony on the Skeleton Coast, before heading inland to the Mars-like terrain of Damaraland. Here we’ll visit the Damara Living Museum to learn about the Damara people that used to inhabit the land and explore ancient rock paintings the tribes used to map out the area. We’ll then reach our lodge for the evening where a cooling off in the pool will be well deserved!
Day 8
Himba Tribe & Etosha Safari
Set off early for our journey to Etosha National Park
Visit the famous people of the Himba Tribe
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Etosha National Park
The Himba people are a semi-nomadic tribe that has maintained it’s cultural practices and appearance for hundreds of years in Namibia, and today guests will have the opportunity to visit, interact and learn about this fascinating community. After a truly beautiful experience with the Himba we’ll continue our journey towards one of Africa’s largest protected reserves and home to the Africa’s largest salt pan - Etosha National Park. Today we will just have a taste of the wildlife on offer with an evening game drive before we head into the park for the whole day tomorrow!
Day 9
Safari Time!
Early morning breakfast
Full day safari exploring Etosha National Park
Lions, Elephants, Giraffes & more!🤞
End the day with a dip in the pool and a cocktail
Etosha National Park covers 22,270 square kilometres making it the 6th largest National Park in Africa. This means there’s a lot of ground to cover and staying at just one lodge to explore it is not ideal. So today we’ll spend the day inside the park as we move from the South West toward our next accommodation on the far North Eastern side. This gives us the best possible opportunity for wildlife viewing and to experience as much of this vast wilderness as possible! An evening around the campfire will top off the day as we plan our final game viewing opportunity in the morning.
Day 10
Last chance safari & the drive to Windhoek
Last opportunity to explore Etosha National Park
Embark on the long journey to Windhoek
Last night dinner & drinks
Today is the 500km journey back to Windhoek, but first we’ll have one last opportunity to go on the search for wildlife with a morning game drive, as we exit the park and make our way South towards the Capital.
The long drive will be followed by a visit to one of Namibia’s most famous restaurants - Joe’s Beer House where guests will be able to enjoy huge plates of food and frosty beers to celebrate their last 10 days of adventure!
Day 11
